Ok, ok. So it took me 20+ years to do it, but I’ve finally read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. Yes, I’ve seen all the movies (and loved them!). Yes, my girlfriend is a full on Harry Potter nerd. And yes, I’ve even been to the absolutely amazing Warner Brother’s Harry Potter Studio Tour in England. I just never got around to actually reading the books. More accurately book. You have to start somewhere.
All in all it was a fun, easy read. I will say it was an interesting experience reading this after seeing the movies. I read all of the dialogue in the voices of the actors and I was able to picture all of the set pieces. Overall, the movie did a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the book with great casting and set design. I’m sure I will be moving on the The Chamber of Secrets in the near future.
